Jon Phillips
Director, Social Media
Jon is a member of the Elijah Centre Embassy located in Washington DC. He functions as a part of the Embassy secondary leadership team. He is also the Global Leadership Interlink (GLI) DC Chapter coordinator.
Jon is the Director of the Social Media stream of the Global Communications and Technology (GCT) Sector, with specific responsibility of managing all Congress social media outreach efforts.
Jon is an IT Project Manager by profession and he currently manages a 50+ person team focused on building multiple web applications. He is also formally trained in Arabic language translation and has studied over six languages. Additionally, Jon serves as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) for a DC-based Technology Consulting company, NextRev Technologies. Jon previously worked with the BrightPath Foundation as a training coordinator. Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from the American University in Washington D.C., has an Arabic Linguist Certification from the Defense Language Institute, and is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified.
Jon and his wife Emily have been married for seventeen years and have four children: Owen, Everly, Reed and Simon.
